Denis Peterson began at the age of four below the guidance of his grandfather drawing, a master muralist and close protege of Claude Monet. Denis' art education ultimately incorporated painting and art restoration.
During a BFA pursued Denis maintained a painting studio and restored Renaissance art for museums. Right after college he worked as a graphic illustrator for Exxon, generate art for the Chairman of the Board and 149 affiliates. He later attended Pratt beneath prestigious teachers Fellowship, where he earned his MFA in painting.
Denis was one of the first Photorealists forth in New York. His wonderful airbrush figurative works, at the Brooklyn Museum had been shown characterized by "trimming" the photo frame as an aesthetic subversion of photography. It was a new strategy, now frequently employed by modern figurative painters.
Denis Peterson is extensively recognized as the pioneer and primary architect of hyperrealism, a splinter art movement founded on the aesthetic principles of photorealism. He differed from hyperrealism photorealism so meticuolous changes to a depth work of the field, color and composition, in order to emphasize a social message about modern culture and politics.
